Crane A&E Associates Give Back Through Crane Charitable Trust
Philanthropy and community support are deeply rooted in Crane’s rich history.
In 1904, Crane founder, R.T. Crane, said “a loyal employee gives something besides his labor and the employer should recognize that.” Toward the end of his life, R.T. Crane set aside $1 million to take care of former associates who, due to age or infirmity, are unable to support themselves. Ten years later, after he passed away, R.T. Crane’s family similarly established the Crane Fund for Widows & Children (CFW&C) – a charitable trust designed to support those in need in the communities where Crane associates live and work.
Each year since, through the CFW&C, Crane associates have had the opportunity to nominate local organizations who help underserved populations in our communities. Crane Aerospace & Electronics – a business unit of Crane Co. – this year nominated 99 charitable organizations near Crane A&E’s seven business locations (Lynnwood, Wash.; Burbank, Calif.; Chandler, Ariz.; Elyria, Ohio; West Caldwell, N.J.; Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Lyon, France; Kaohsiung, Taiwan). Each of these charitable organizations were presented gifts ranging from $1,000-5,000 by their sponsoring Crane A&E associate.
Crane Co. and Crane A&E are proud to be associated with such a strong legacy in community giving. The company and our associates are proud to be stewards of our founder’s legacy through the CFW&C.
